EVS2026 - Event-driven Vision School

Dear Neuromorphs, Following Giacomo’s suggestion, I’ve posted the announcement about the opening of the registrations for the Event-driven Vision School on the Neuromorphs forum. However, for the fans of the good old mailing lists, who might have missed the forum notification, here is the announcement: The registration deadline to the Event-driven Vision School (EVS)<https://edpr.iit.it/events/2026-evs> has been extended beyond 26th October. Due to the restricted initial opening time, we have decided to keep registrations open a bit longer to allow more candidates to apply. If interested, apply filling the form<https://edpr.iit.it/2026-evs-registration-form>, possibly, before Monday 3rd November. The EVS school is the first event focused on teaching computer vision with event cameras. Its aim is to offer students an in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art methods to process event-driven camera data and teach them the required, practical, skills to develop their own applications. Dear neuromophs, we would like to announce the first edition of the Artificial Life, Intelligence, Creativity and Evolution workshop https://aliceworkshop.org/ <https://aliceworkshop.org/This> This edition will be hosted in Copenhagen on the first week of February. The workshop is organised by the REAL Lab, has an amazing set of speakers and is accepting applications for a couple more days! The fields of artificial life, collective intelligence, and evolution, span a wide range of scientific disciplines, yet, they share foundational ideas from complexity science such as self-organisation, network approaches, agentic perspectives, and bio-inspired paradigms of intelligence. The goal of the workshop is to move away from the traditional keynotes format, instead the focus is to create a stimulating environment to explore research ideas through discussion groups and projects—with the goal of spawning new collaborations. The workshop is open to researchers at different career stages, from PhDs and postdoc to senior researchers. Dear colleagues, All details about this school can be found online at https://www.nengo.ai/summer-school The Centre for Theoretical Neuroscience at the University of Waterloo is excited to announce our 11th annual Nengo summer school on large-scale brain modelling and neuromorphic computing. This two-week school will teach participants to use the Nengo simulation package to build state-of-the-art cognitive and neural models to run both in simulation and on neuromorphic hardware. Summer school participants will be given on-site access to neuromorphic hardware and will learn to run high-level applications using Nengo! More generally, Nengo provides users with a versatile and powerful environment for designing cognitive and neural systems and has been used to build what is currently the world's largest functional brain model, Spaun, which includes spiking deep learning, reinforcement learning, adaptive motor control, and cognitive control networks. Participants are encouraged to bring their own ideas for projects, which may focus on testing hypotheses, creating models to account for neural or cognitive data, implementing specific behavioural functions with neurons, expanding past models, or providing a proof-of-concept of various neural mechanisms. Hands-on tutorials, individual or group projects, and talks from invited faculty members will make up the bulk of day-to-day activities. A project demonstration event will be held on the last day of the school, with prizes for strong projects! This new HPRU is a £5.5M partnership between the University of Leicester, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Through delivery of high-quality research, HPRUs support UKHSA in its objective to protect the health of the public, enabling it to prepare for and respond to major or emerging health protection incidents as well as building an evidence base for health protection policy and practice. The work of the HPRU falls into three broad themes: 1. Environmental exposures and health security 2. Impact on human health of from the environmental and human microbial communities 3.
